The Security & Development Forum of the 2024 Conference of Global Public Security Cooperation Forum (Lianyungang) was held on September 10th in Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province. Over 260 representatives from 16 countries and international organizations, as well as the national ministries, local governments, central and local departments of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, financial institutions, professional academies, industry chambers, and leading enterprises in areas of security, attended the forum. This sub-forum was hosted by the China Association for Friendship.

With the theme “Commit to High-Level Security and High-Quality Development”, the forum aims to uphold a common, comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable security concept, establish a dialogue platform between Chinese enterprises and interior, law enforcement and security authorities in relevant countries, and enhance the safety awareness and prevention capabilities of “going global” enterprises conducting industries, investment and management.

Around topics such as “Securing Quality Development with a High Level of Security”“Building a Long-term Mechanism for Overseas Security”“Empowering the Security Industry with Technology” the forum organized round-table discussions to gather wisdom and consensus for empowerment of cooperation in the security industry chain. Participating experts shared vivid practice cases in the field of overseas public security, cutting-edge scientific and technological insights, forward-looking institutional support, and put forward a series of valuable opinions and suggestions. The Forum issued the Initiative for Forum on Security and Development, aiming to deepen exchanges and cooperation in the global public security industry, spread the concept of multi-governance and resource integration, improve the ability to comprehensively solve security problems, and build a new pattern of promoting common development through cooperation on security. During the forum, the “2024 Overseas Security Excellence Practice” awards were presented. 4 security technology companies conducted product roadshows.

All participants expressed that the Security & Development Forum has distinct characteristics and substantial pragmatic results, embodying the concept of global public security cooperation, and expanding the global influence of “Chinese Approach on Security”. They unanimously agreed to promote the Global Security Initiative, the Global Development Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative through concrete actions.
