On September 21st, the Panel on International Security Situation was held as part of the 2023 Conference of Global Public Security Cooperation Forum (Lianyungang). The Panel was chaired by Dr. Yusuf, former National Security Advisor of Pakistan, and attended by Chen Zhimin, President of the China Association for Friendship, who also delivered remarks. Over 100 participants, including Chinese experts from institutions such as the China Institute of International Studies, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Nanjing University, as well as government officials, experts, and scholars from approximately 20 countries and international organizations including the United States, Pakistan, and Kazakhstan, took part in the Panel.
The Panel emphasized the need to collectively implement the Global Security Initiative, pursuing a new concept of common, comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable security, and working together to build a community with a shared future for mankind characterized by universal security and shared development.
The participants, under the theme "New Situation, New Challenges, New Security," engaged in candid and in-depth discussions on the evolving global circumstances and its future, new challenges on global security and development posed by the evolving global circumstances, the dilemma of global public security in the post-pandemic era, and how to cooperate to push forward a new pattern of global security governance. They shared experiences and practices.
The participants unanimously agreed that the Global Security Initiative responds to the urgent needs of the international community to maintain world peace and establish a new pattern of global security governance, aligns with countries' aspirations for development and security, and serves as an important guide for advancing global peace and security cooperation in a steady and sustained manner.
The seminar also adopted "The Consensus on the Security Situation."
