On September 10, the Public Security and Safety Technology and Equipment Sub-Forum of the 2024 GPSCFL Conference was held in Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province. The sub-forum was hosted by China Association for Friendship and organized by the China Security Protection Products Industry Association.

The sub-forum, themed “National Security, Shared by the World”, gathered elites from governmental, industrial, academic, research, and application sectors in the field of public security from 18 countries and regions, including China, the United Kingdom, Spain, South Africa, Pakistan, Iran, and Peru. It focused on methodologies for technology governance of public security and the construction of intelligent public security technological support capabilities. The sub-forum conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges from various perspectives, including how AI technology promotes the development of public security and the development and application of intelligent equipment in the field of public security. Keynote speeches were delivered at the sub-forum by distinguished guests, such as Jeanette Smit, Dean of the College of Policing and Law Enforcement at South Africa’s STADIO University, Manabela Samuel Chauke, Chief Executive Officer of the South African Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA) and Jake Sanders, CEO of the UK-based World Security News Group. 

The sub-forum values systematic thinking and the spirit of openness and unity. Through activities like keynote speeches, releasing new product and technologies, analysis reports of industry development, and high-level dialogues, it showcases cutting-edge technologies and innovative products in global public security sector and shares the security concept for the future. It also echoes the Public Security Tech Expo (Lianyungang) held during the Conference. 

Representatives attending the conference expressed that this sub-forum has contributed scientific and technological wisdom and industrial strength to continuously deepen international law enforcement cooperation in the field of public security, jointly promote global public security governance, achieve goals of universal security and common security, and build a community with a shared future on global public security, which will surely promote the exchange and mutual learning, as well as joint construction and benefits sharing of cutting-edge technological products and innovative concept of security ideas on global public security.
